In the “Architecture / Engineering” column for January-February 2015, the ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN journal archiSTORM describes the sector’s challenges and expectations surrounding BIM (BIM: The new Esperanto of the construction world?). Investors, an APUR study that will interest you
In 2014, the Paris urban planning workshop Atelier Parisien d’Urbanisme (APUR) began a census of all Paris offices larger than 1,000 m2. At the end of this survey a study was published in April 2015 mapping the Paris offices by their age of construction and mode of ownership. The main purpose of this census was to identify buildings that could be a resource for projects to turn offices into housing. Given the strong political desire to support these types of projects, it would seem necessary, right from the acquisition or bargaining stage, to assess the technical and economic potential of the projects. Thanks to its analysis of this data, its technical and architectural expertise, and its understanding of asset management, BUILDERS & PARTNERS is able to offer as part of its support missions a quantified scenario for conversion to housing, from among all the possible valorization options. Project news: Delivery of the Plastic Omnium Campus
PLASTIC OMNIUM CAMPUS PROJECT Plastic Omnium, which is headquartered in Lyon, on Monday 30 March inaugurated a 32,000 m2 office building complex, most of which had been delivered to Sanofi. Attending the celebration were Gérard Collomb (national Senator and Mayor of Lyon), Laurent Burelle (Chairman & CEO of Plastic Omnium) and Havier Huillard (Chairman & CEO of Vinci Construction). Completed in the record time of 22 months of work, the campus is composed of: • 4 autonomous buildings designed as offices and laboratories; • One services building reserved for occupants of the site with: o an auditorium, o meeting rooms, o restaurant facility, o a crèche, o a janitorial service, o parking with 505 places. Specialist BIM MASTERS PROGRAM partnership
For a year now, BUILDERS & PARTNERS has been partnering a specialist Masters program organized by the national civil engineering schools ECOLE DES PONTS ET CHAUSSEES and ECOLE SPECIALE DES TRAVAUX PUBLICS, DU BÂTIMENT ET DE L’INDUSTRIE, along with major players INGEROP, ARTELIA, MEDIA CONSTRUCT, BOUYGUES CONSTRUCTION and SAINT GOBAIN. With 34 Masters students enrolled this year, the number of applications received for the second year reflects the success and growing impact of BIM in France. Project news: Delivery of phase 1 and launch of phase 2 of QU4DRANS
Pierre Vaquier, CEO of Axa IM–Real Assets and Thierry Laroue-Pont, Chairman of the Board of BNP Paribas Real Estate, announced the delivery of phase 1 of Qu4drans, a new large complex in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, right next to the Defence Ministry. The timeline for phase 2 of the project has also been unveiled: the sitework for the construction of the final two buildings will begin in December 2015 for planned delivery early 2018.
